AI Powered Security Company, Stabilitas, Announces National Science Foundation Award

(Seattle, WA) – Stabilitas Intelligence Communications Inc., a developer of AI powered tools for the security industry, has received a National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II award of $750,000. This brings the total NSF SBIR award amount to nearly $1M. The new investment will support the enhancement of the company's AI powered security platform. Stabilitas provides tools that read and aggregate open source information, making it easier to find and summarize intelligence in real-time.

"With the use of AI, we are seeking to fundamentally change how organizations solve security challenges and put greater emphasis on user experience and the power of community," said CEO, Greg Adams.  "We know we're on the cutting edge for the security industry, and it's great to see the National Science Foundation award reflect that."

Who is Stabilitas?

Stabilitas was founded by US Army veterans and Harvard Business School Alums, Greg Adams and Chris Hurst.  They set out to address security problems and shortcomings they found during their service. "We had used the military's intelligence tools, but we didn't think they were forward looking enough. Something was missing."

Aiming to improve data visualization capabilities for stakeholders, they began work on a tech platform for security professionals.  Current Stabilitas customers range from small NGOs to global companies such as Ingersoll Rand and Home Depot. Stabilitas is a 2015 Techstars alum and was awarded a previous National Science Foundation grant and the "Security's Best" award from ASIS International in 2015.

How it all comes together

With the implementation of proprietary machine learning algorithms, Stabilitas utilizes AI for human safety by identifying and classifying risks to people, places, and things - in real-time.  This results in faster notification for users and security professionals whose goal is to avoid crises, provide rapid accountability, and intelligence for their customers.  "Chris and I share a passion for building great teams and finding solutions." said Adams.  "This NSF/SBIR grant will help us do just that while developing our machine learning features and AI capabilities."
